ABOUT
Christopher Sexton is a multi-instrumentalist from Reno, NV that has been performing for over 12 years. Sexton received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies and Improvisation from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2018. He has played with a handful of well known artists and bands such as Donny McCaslin (saxophonist for David Bowie), Galactic, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, Jurassic 5, Matisyahu, and many more. Throughout his time studying music at the university, he was mentored by an all-star faculty consisting of Peter Epstein, Ralph Alessi, Adam Benjamin (Kneebody), David Ake, Dan Cray, and Dennis Hamm (Thundercat). Sexton plays piano in a variety of bands with a good reputation on a local and global scale. Currently he plays piano and sings with The Sextones (Soul), Whatitdo Archive Group (Soundtrack), and The Peanuts Gang Trio (Jazz/Latin). In the past, he played with groups such as The Umpires (reggae), Dainesly (Alternative Folk/Country), Bazooka Zoo (Space Rock), and Redfield Clipper (Jazz Fusion/Hip-Hop). Outside of playing music in a band setting, Sexton also has over 5 years of experience playing solo piano for weddings and other events. Without hesitation, Sexton is a musician you can lean on and trust for any occasion.
